At the recent AAPS meeting in Washington the Pharmaterials CEO, Professor Graham Buckton was interviewed by In-Pharma Technologist. Prof Buckton explained that the Pharmaterials strategy for early phase drug delivery was to use the fastest route to clinic - if possible Xcelodose powder in capsule, if more work was needed then perhaps just micronisation and ordered mixing or granulation. At this stage we would also consider salts and co-crystal formation to optimise properties. Beyond that we would look at amorphous and lipid based formulation approaches. In every case the goal is to work with the customer to acheive the desired goals and do what is needed for the stage of development they are at. Phamraterials offer a complete early phase development service - form selection, formulation and analytical development and GMP manufacture.
