Pharmaterials is delighted to announce that their Chief Executive Office, Professor Graham Buckton has been awarded a Fellowship of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Great Britain. The award was made for his contribution to the pharmaceutical sciences and was conferred at a dinner at the British Pharmaceutical Conference on the 8th September 2009.
Professor Buckton currently is a fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He holds a joint position as a Professor of Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy, University of London.
Professor Buckton said “I was actively involved in the formation of the Academy and in bringing a unified body into existence to represent the pharmaceutical sciences in Britain, it is a great joy for me that the Academy have seen fit to honour me in this way, it means a great deal to me. It is a time of change, especially for the RPSGB, and the Academy is well placed to be the key home for pharmaceutical sciences for years to come. As a Fellow, I will do my best to help and support the Academy in these times”.
Graham’ s research interests in materials science, amorphous pharmaceuticals, delivery of poorly soluble drugs and inhaled drug delivery allow him to contribute to the core mission of Pharmaterials.
